Rochdale Observer

Helping hands

-

IN our weekly Time-Trip feature, we take a look back at events happening in Rochdale in years gone by.

Each week we will showcase a selection of pictures taken by Rochdale Observer photographers.

This week, we look back at all those who lended a hand during the Christmas period over the years.

In our first picture (top), the Rochdale Childer group gathered to wrap presents for disadvantaged children at St Vincent’s Church Hall, Norden, in 2006. Pictured from left are: Maureen Cooper, Joyce Wood, Colin Kane, Elsie Smith, Christine Czornenkyj, Val Heywood and Dorothy Brierley.

Next (right), we have Joan Smith and Jane Taylor at the Cats Protection Christmas Fair held at the Rochdale Infirmary in 2005.

Below that (bottom right) is Rebecca Wormald from Asda, Helen Williams from the car shop and Carol Hopkins of Rochdale Chamber of Commerce at Asda, Rochdale, to show their support for the Secret Santa Appeal.

Finally (below), at the Rochdale Exchange, Chris White and Wayne Miller, give a lift to Margaret Cigna, promotions co-ordinator. They were hired to help shoppers carry their bags during the Christmas period of 2005.

If you have pictures that you would like us to feature, send them to communities@men media.co.uk or submit them via the Rochdale Observer Facebook page. ●●Joan Smith and Jane Taylor at the Cats Protection Christmas Fair
