Gymnasts close
ROCHDALE Olympic Gymnastics Club’s gymnasts from the Level 1 and Level 2 Squads battled it out between themselves in the final competition of the year, as they contested The Club’s Annual Floor and Vault Championships at their home base in Springfield Park.
Layla Rushton, Alexis Dawson, Sophia Schofield, Pippa HansonWalker, Lyla Briddon and Maisie Whitlow emerged as ROGC’s newly crowned Floor and Vault Champions, all winning their respective groups.
The Level 1 gymnasts got the day off to a great start with the gymnasts in Group 1 where Sophia Schofield was crowned the Overall Champion in first place, followed by Freya Burgess and Isabelle Mosley Dunne in second, Rose FreemanHart and Sophie Miller in third, Aimee Bulmer in fourth and Ivy Clark in fifth place.
Sophia took first place on Vault, with Freya in second and Rose in third. On Floor Isabelle took first place, with Sophie in second and Rose in third place. Group 2 saw Pippa Hanson-Walker take victory in first place Overall followed by Daisy Whittaker and Olivia-May Hibbert in second, Isabelle Ahern in third, Mika Pearson in fourth and Scarlett Moore in fifth place.
Daisy took first place on Vault, with Isabelle in second and Olivia and Pippa in third place.
On Floor Pippa took first place, with Olivia in second, whilst Daisy, Mika and Scarlett all shared third place.
Round 2 saw the final 10 Level 1 gymnasts in action, for seven of which it was their debut competition and they did not disappoint.
Group 3 saw Alexis Dawson take top spot on the podium in first place, with Isabella Howarth in second, Lola Whittaker in third, Maisie Loftus in fourth and Serennah Schofield in fifth place. The top three girls took the same three medal positions on Vault with Alexis in first, Isabella second and Lola third.
On Floor Alexis took first, Isabella and Lola shared second place, and Maisie and Serennah shared third place. Layla Rushton triumphed in Group 4 taking first place Overall, followed by Scarlett Davis in second, Anabelle Bramwell in third, Tiana-Leigh Austin in fourth and Isabelle Simper in fifth place.
Layla took first place on Vault, with Anabelle in second and Scarlett in third.
On Floor Scarlett took first place, with Layla in second and Anabelle in third.
The Level 2 gymnasts finished off a hugely successful day where Lyla Briddon took the title in the Under 10 section finishing in first place Overall, closely followed by Ava Dixon and Lois Briddon sharing second, Alba Giordani in third, Gracie Gartside and Lottie Peacocke in fourth, Abigail Hinchliff in fifth and Olivia Holroyd in sixth place.
Lyla also took first place on Vault, with Lois in second and Gracie in third.
On Floor Ava took first place, with Lyla in second and Lois in third. Maisie Whitlow took victory in the Over 10 competition, closely followed by Holly Aylett in second, Grace Risby in third, Isla Dixon in fourth, Grace Dudley in fifth, Evie Dixon in sixth and Freya Howarth in seventh.
Holly took first place on Vault, with Isla in second, and Maisie and Grace Dudley sharing third place.
On Floor Maisie took first place, with Grace Risby in second and Holly in third place.
