Talk on the great Edgar Wood

Rochdale Observer - - WHAT’S ON WITH ALL ACROSS THE ARTS LISTINGS -

Trust. He has been actively involved in the restoration of some of Wood’s most iconic buildings and has written guides and lectures on Edgar Wood as well as conducting tours around Edgar Wood’s buildings.

Edgar Wood (18601935) was a highly reputable and influential Arts and Crafts architect, artist and furniture designer. His work also spanned Art Nouveau and Modernism and he is seen as one of the most ambitious architects of the period. He practised mainly in the Greater Manchester and Huddersfield areas and his native Middleton has several buildings designed by him on Long Street and Rochdale Road.

Rochdale Antiques Society’s events are always worth a visit and this promises to be a very interesting and wellinformed talk on this iconic local Arts and Crafts architect.
