Bradford defeat to be put to bed: Hill

Rochdale Observer - - LEISURE GARDENING FOOD WINTER WALKS -

ROCHDALE were scheduled to kick off 2019 with a trip to Doncaster Rovers on New Year’s Day with Keith Hill insisting they had to put Saturday’s result behind them quickly.

While Dale suffered a 4-0 hammering at the hands of a dominant Bradford City side at the weekend, Rovers were maintaining their push towards the play-off places with victory on the road at Gillingham.

“Doncaster were very successful away from home at Gillingham on Saturday, winning 3-1,” said Hill.

“They are a good side, very attackminded and they are an extremely successful League One side.

“We have to dust ourselves down and make sure we find confidence and belief again to perform to the standards that I expect.

“I am pleased with six points from nine, but you are greedy and you want nine and you don’t want to be hammered as we were on Saturday.

“Psychologically, you have got to make sure you lift the players, self doubt creeps in and it can become like a mainstay, so we have got to get rid of that and go again.

“We have to forget Bradford and move on quickly.”

Dale are at home again on Saturday with Burton Albion the visitors.
