Rochdale Observer - - TIME-TRIP -

A HAIRDRESSER has been recognised for her top class salon.

Melissa Timperley, of Vineyard Close, Wardle, was awarded the Best Independent Salon title by the Fellowship for British Hairdressing at a ceremony in December.

It is a double triumph as the 25-year-old also won the accolade last year for her business, Melissa Timperley Salons, in Manchester city centre.

Since then she has expanded her team of staff to eight and launched hairstyling collections including The Essence of a Woman Collection for more mature women in celebration of International Women’s Day.

She has also taken part in fashion shows and shoots around the world and won the National Hairdressers’ Federation’s Best Customer Service Award and the Hairdressing Journal’s Best Marketing Award.

She said: “It is a great honour to be given this award for the second year in a row.

“That wouldn’t have been possible without the passion and talent of our hard working and dedicated team. It’s the third major award win for the salon in 2018.

“We’ve just celebrated the salon’s second birthday and it is great to look back at what we’ve achieved in a relatively short space of time.”
