Nonsense comedy with

One-liner legend, Tim Vine

-

THE much-anticipated 2019 season of stand-up comedy at Middleton Arena kicks off with Tim Vine: Sunset Milk Idiot.

The man himself said: “Hey people! It’s Tim Vine back on tour, telling lots of silly new jokes, showing off new home-made props, singing some new daft ditties, and all with the appearance of confidence.

“The following subjects will be touched upon briefly: pixie football, ice cream and nibble feeders. Come along, sit down, and laugh.

“The quantity won’t let up. This is comedy without a message.

“What an odd person. What a lot of nonsense. What else is he going to do?

“Sunsets are in the sky, milk’s nice, and I’m an idiot.”

Tim Vine (the much funnier younger brother of Jeremy) is a writer, actor, comedian and presenter, best known for his one-liner jokes.

He won the Dave best Joke at the Edinburgh Fringe Award twice with: ‘I’ve just been on a once-in-a-lifetime holiday. I’ll tell you what, never again’ and ‘I decided to sell my Hoover... well it was just collecting dust.’

TV Sitcom fans will know Tim through his role on Lee Mack’s Not Going Out, from 2006 to 2014.

He has also played Beach the Butler in series two of Blandings.

Other TV shows include Live at the Apollo, QI, winning Celebrity Mastermind, hosting ITV game show Don’t Blow The Inheritance.

Tim is a regular on Celebrity Squares, and Countdown’s Dictionary.

For Comic Relief he appeared on Fame Academy, dancing on Let’s Dance as Justin Timberlake.

In Celebrity Total Wipeout he fell off everything!

On October 7, 2004, Tim broke the Guinness World Record for the most jokes told in an hour with 499, beating the previous record of 362.

Each joke told had to get a laugh from the paying audience to count towards the record.

He is a Christian who has performed at Spring Harvest Christian festivals and a supporter of Sutton United FC.

Tim is also a keen darts fan, having attended several Professional Darts Corporation tournaments along with Lee Mack.

Some of these were televised, such as the 2011 World Championships when both Vine and Mack appeared in the crowd, live on Sky Sports.

He also plays darts in his spare time.
