‘That’s life’ – ice star Brian skates to himself

-

DANCING On Ice fans cracked up laughing when they realised Brian McFadden was skating to a song by Westlife.

Brian, who lives in Rochdale, is best known for his days with Irish boy band Westlife before leaving the band in 2004.

And on Sunday night the reality show contestant skated to their cover of the Barry Manilow ballad Mandy.

“Why make him dance to a Westlife song hahaha” tweeted one amused fan.

“They’re using a Westlife song when Brian isn’t part of the band anymore” laughed another viewer.

When the song ended, after an impressive performance by Brian and his pro partner Alex Murphy, head judge Christopher Dean asked: “Was that you singing?”

And cheeky Brian quipped: “The good bits.”

The singer’s future on the show was in doubt after he suffered a horror injury just a day before making his debut on the show.

Brian partially dislocated his shoulder and damaged his rotator cuff, a group of muscles and tendons that surround the shoulder joint.

A spokesman for the show said Brian was unable to continue rehearsals and they would reassess the situation.

The 38-year-old Irish singer has called Rochdale his “first home” after meeting his girlfriend, Danielle Parkinson, a PE teacher at Matthew Moss High School, in 2016, and Danielle was in the audience cheering her man on. One supportive fan cheered on Twitter: “You’re amazing, you’re gonna win this all of Rochdale are backing you all the way x”
