New photography exhibition opens at Hollingworth Lake
HOLLINGWORTH Lake Visitors’ Centre opens its 2019 exhibition season with photographer David Birchall’s The Seeing Eye.
Originally from Manchester, David Birchall now lives in Derbyshire in the heart of the beautiful Peak District, one of the most scenic areas of outstanding natural beauty in Great Britain.
David explained: “This is a great place to live for a photographer, but as you will see from my photographs I do like to venture further afield occasionally!
“I have been a photographer for over 30 years and always remember the best piece of photographic advice I was given.
“Some years ago, I worked with a very experienced landscape seeing’ – that has always stuck with me and I try and remember it each time I look through the viewfinder.
“The most important photography equipment is your eye, the ability to ‘see’ an image and the attention to detail.”
David Birchall’s work has been widely used for books, calendars, magazines and greeting cards.
The Seeing Eye by David Birchall will be showing at Hollingworth Lake Visitors Centre, Rakewood Road, Littleborough, from 10am to 3pm, until Friday, February 15 (closed Wednesday and Thursday).
