Car firm continues its backing for big race

WILLIAMS Rochdale BMW has renewed its support for Rochdale Half Marathon after signing a new three-year deal which sees the company confirmed as title sponsor of the event until 2021.

The event will retain its name – Williams BMW Rochdale Half Marathon, 10K and Fun Run.

John Connor, head of business, said the event goes from strength to strength.

He said: “As a familyrun business we’re always keen to support the local community. Most importantly, it also helps raise money for some fantastic charities, including over £12,500 for Springhill Hospice last year alone. We are proud for Williams Rochdale to be the title sponsor for 2019-2021.”

The event, on Sunday, October 6, is being organised by Middleton Harriers, Rochdale Harriers and Rochdale Triathlon Club supported by Rochdale council.

Entry for the half marathon has been reduced by £7 and there’s £4 off the 10K for all ‘early bird’ entries received by March 31. Fun Run entry opens in July. You can enter online or find out more at www.rochdale. gov.uk/run
