Weekend action double-up

IT’S set to be another busy few days of cricket action, with both Lancashire League and Worsley Cup fixtures taking place this weekend.

In Division One, Rochdale are on their travels as they head to The boohoo.com Turf Moor to go up against Burnley.

Rochdale are in sixth position with five wins, one tied game and seven defeats giving them 87 points, while Burnley are third on 106 points after nine wins and four defeats.

Rochdale are also in Worsley Cup semi-final action this weekend, facing Darwen at Redbrook, while Todmorden and Clitheroe meet in the other semi-final at Centre Vale.

Norden have a home game as they welcome Lowerhouse to Woodhouse Lane.

Norden are in fourth position after seven wins, five defeats and one no result, leaving them on 94 points. Lowerhouse are second, with nine wins and four defeats this season giving them 110 points.

Elsewhere in Division One, Darwen take on Todmorden at the Ainsworth Lord Estates Ground, and Walsden and Crompton clash at Scott Street.

In Division Two, Rishton welcome Bacup to Blackburn Road.

Rishton are fifth in the Division Two table with seven wins and six defeats from their 13 games, leaving them with 91 points, while Bacup are in seventh on 90 points with the same wins and losses, meaning a victory for Bacup would see them leapfrog their rivals in the table.

There is a local derby between Great Harwood and Enfield as the two neighbours clash at Cliffe Park.

Haslingden have an away game, heading to Alexandra Meadows to face East Lancashire.

Milnrow have a home game as they take on Rawtenstal­l at Ladyhouse. Milnrow are bottom, with two wins and 11 defeats leaving them on 36 points, while Rawtenstal­l are sixth with six wins and seven losses handing them 91 points.

Littleboro­ugh are at home, facing Colne at Hare Hill.

Littleboro­ugh are in fourth place with seven wins and six defeats putting them on 96 points.

Colne are top of the table, having won 11 and lost just two of their 13 matches, giving them 131 points.

Elsewhere in Division Two, Nelson at Middleton meet at Seedhill.
