Internet firm’s £10k to keep circle turning

-

AN internet provider company has made a £10,000 donation to a group which supports older residents.

Zen Internet, based at Sandbrook Park, made the donation to HMR Circle which supports residents over the age of 50 in Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale.

The internet provider has been generous supporters of the Circle over recent years, including hosting a series of marquee events at their Sandbrook Park home.

This year Circle has been one of Zen’s designated good causes and director Mark Wynn and along with Circle special projects coordinator, Kim Ho were presented the cheque for £10,000 by Zen founder and chairman, Richard Tang.

Over the past 12 months have undertaken a series of fundraising activities, in particular a sponsored walk along the entire 84 miles or 134 kilometres length of Hadrian’s Wall.

The fundraising managed to raise an incredible £15,000 which was match funded by Zen Internet, meaning that £30,000 was donated amongst this year’s three good causes - HMR Circle, Darian House and KYP.

Circle Director Mark Wynn said “We can’t thank the staff at Zen for their huge generosity and kindness.

“This massive donation will allow us to continue to subsidise Membership of Circle and The Volunteer Drivers Service as well as keeping our Lunch Club-club and Dinner Driver meals really affordable during these uncertain times.

“This money will also help us improve and develop our services and systems to deliver the best possible service to our Members and those we support.”

Mark added the Circle will be returning to Zen for their bug Christmas party, which he said was the highlight of last year, if not the whole of Circle’s ten year existence.
