Preparing to remember our fallen war heroes

ROCHDALE Borough Council have announced details of this Remembranc­e Day services across the borough.

The annual services are set to take place at seven events and parades throughout the borough on Sunday, November 13.

Taking place in Rochdale town centre, Littleboro­ugh, Milnrow, Wardle, Heywood and Middleton each service will feature hymns, prayers, exhortatio­n, the performing of the Last Post, a two-minute silence and the national anthem.

Service programmes will also be available for download event.

For the town centre Remembranc­e Day service will take place at Rochdale Cenotaph, Rochdale Memorial Gardens at 10.55am.

The parade will begin outside Touchstone­s Rochdale on The Esplanade ending with a service at the Cenotaph.

Also beginning before the at 10.55am, the Milnrow parade will assemble at Harmony Street and end with a service at the Milnrow Memorial before returning to Harmony Street.

For those in Littleboro­ugh the service will take place at Littleboro­ugh War Memorial on Church Street with the parade starting at Hare Hill Park at 10.15am.

In Wardle the service at the war memorial on Wardle Road will start at 3pm with the parade assembling at the Village Square at 2.15pm.

The Middleton Remembranc­e Day service will take place at Middleton Memorial Gardens at 10.45am with the parade assembling facing the Wetherspoo­ns Harbord pub on Long Street at

10.15am. In Heywood the parade meets at the Heywood Public House on Tower Street at 10.15am with the service taking place at

10.45am at the Memorial Gardens.
