R&S pile misery on for struggling Fox

- ANDY PALOMBO STANDINGS

FOX & Pine continue to struggle at the bottom of Division One and are still without a win after a 12-4 loss at home to Rochdalians & Spotland.

Bolton Town sit just one place above them after their first win of the season, 4-3 at home to R-kix who will be looking over their shoulder as only two points separate them from the bottom two and the teams below all have games in hand.

Previous league leaders Avenue lost top spot as they were taking part in the FA Sunday Cup where they were knocked out by AFC Bull by the odd goal in three and Rochdalians & Spotland moved to the top of the table on goal difference.

In Division Two, Love Energy Savings continued their good form with a 4-0 home win over Bolton Castle, Woodbank UTB won at home to Woolworths and Littleborough continued their return to form with a 1-0 win at Avenue 2nds.

In Division Three a tough physical game between Norford United and AFC Bolton was 0-0 at half time.

Norford took the lead in the second half after Bolton were reduced to ten men and with eight minutes left another red card saw Bolton down to nine but they hung on and their captain Josh Dalley slotted home a penalty with the last kick of the game to give them a share of the points.

Hindsford and North Walkden both had home wins over Royle and Bury Pumas respectively which kept Walkden at the summit and Hindsford in second.

Royton CC moved menacingly up to third with an away win at Johnson Fold and still have a 100% record with games in hand on the top two.

The top two met in Division Four with Heywood Athletic swapping places with AFC Radcliffe to go top after a 3-1 away win.

Breightmet Wanderers 2nds hammered strugglers Brown Cow 11-0 and there were also wins for R-kix Reserves, Rochdalians & Spotland 2nds and notably for D’havilland who ended Game Cock’s 100% record with a 2-1 win.

In Division Five Wardleworth dropped their first points of the season only managing a 1-1 draw at home to Holcombe.

East Lancs and Milburn are the two teams propping up the table after both were beaten by Bury North and North Manchester Lions 2nds respectively while there were also wins for Made In Bury and FC Wellington.

The only other game saw North West Cobras gain a creditable draw at Railway Rovers.
