Health champs call for views on care homes

-

RESIDENTS are being asked to share their views on nursing and residential homes in the borough.

Healthwatch Rochdale, the independent consumer champion for health and social care, has put out the call to see what is working well and where improvements are needed.

Prior to the Covid pandemic Healthwatch carried out a two year Enter & View programme in care homes which involved going into the home and speaking to residents, their family and friends, staff members and management.

This allowed the service to have a good understanding of the level of care and service that was being provided in care homes.

Due to the ending of the Enter & View programme Healthwatch Rochdale have seen a decline in the feedback they have been receiving in this area and are now asking anyone who has contact with a care home to share their views and opinions.

Kate Jones, Healthwatch Rochdale CEO, said: “Our

Advisory Group have told us they want to have a better understanding of the service that is being provided in care and residential homes and so we are asking people to share their experiences with us.

“We want to hear the good stories as well as what you think needs to be improved. You can share your views with us anonymously if preferred and can always speak to us in confidence.”

You can take part in the survey by visiting the website: healthwatchrochdale. org.uk/ or via email: info@ healthwatchrochdale. org.uk.

The survey can also be completed over the telephone on 01706 249 575 or via text on 07520645142 as well in person at one of the service’s information, advice and signposting surgeries.
