Care home chief makes award final
A MANAGER at a care home was nominated at this year’s National Care Awards.
Elesha Greaves from Half Acre House in Rochdale was named as a finalist in the Care Home Manager of the year 2022 category, selected from more than 500 nominations across the country.
She has gained her reputation at Half Acre House Residential Care Home for the excellent work she has done over the years and especially in the last 12 months.
Her passion for fairness and quality care, combined with her enthusiasm has been described as inspirational by colleagues.
Half Acre owner Anita Lewis said: “She inspired staff post Covid to become a more cohesive team and she supported families through this difficult time displaying excellent communication skills.
“She was able to reassure families that residents were able to continue to lead a full and active life at Half Acre House.”
Even though she did not come away as the winner Elesha said being nominated was winning enough and that getting down to the final six reaffirmed her belief in herself. The judges said: “Going from being a care assistant to a Registered Manager has enabled her to inspire change, good practice, development in education, positive cultures, succession planning, emotional intelligence, mentoring, collaboration, allowing the freedom to make mistakes, innovation and authenticity.”
Elesha was joined by deputy manager Lauren Hughes, business Manager Nina Clegg and Owners Anita and Rod Lewis for the celebration event at the Park Plaza in Westminster.
