ST MARY’S, BALDERSTONE

-

CHRISTMAS is almost here! How God sent his Son, Jesus, to be born as a baby in a stable. It’s a beautiful story, but it’s also a crazy story. Why did God choose such a messy and lowly place for his Son? Why did he send him to a poor and young couple, who had to face so many troubles? The answer is simple: God loves us so much that he became one of us, to save us. Want to find out more, why not try church this Christmas?

Tomorrow morning, we have a holy communion service at our usual time of 10.30am. Rev Wilkinson will be continuing our sermon series in Psalms. Children’s groups will be available for ages four-11.

In the evening we’ll be celebrating with our carols by candlelight service. If you prefer a traditional Christmas carol service, then this is the one for you.

Starting at 6.30pm, it’s an opportunity to celebrate the Christmas story with carols, readings, and a message; guaranteed to make you feel all Christmassy! Plus, we’ll have mince pies and oodles of refreshments. A real Christmas cracker

- we cannot wait to sing and celebrate with you all.

On Tuesday SMURFS have our Christmas party (1.30pm - 3pm in the parish room). There will be games, food and a special visitor too. This will be the last session before the holidays.

For those still in good voice, we will be gathering for some community carol singing on Wednesday. There are two opportunities to join inwe will meet at Fieldway at 5.30pm and Arnold Bagnall court at 6.30pm. No need to RSVP, just pop on your favourite (ugly or not) Christmas sweater and join in with your favourite carols.
