Dale Women kick off the year at Hyde United

DALE Women travel to Hyde United FC Ladies tomorrow (Sunday) in what is their first game of 2024.

Lee Atkinson’s side were last in action on December 17th as they beat Athletico

Middleton Ladies 2-1 in the quarter-final of the League Premier Cup.

This will be Dale’s third Greater Manchester Women’s Football League game after beating Mancunian United Women Reserves 2-1 and Tiki Taka Women 14-1 previously.

“It’s a massive game for us to look forward to,” said Atkinson.

“Hyde have started the season in incredible form, losing only one game so far and winning five.

“We know that we will have to be at our best this weekend, and we want to start 2024 on the front foot.

“The quarter-final of the Lancashire County Cup has also been drawn recently. We will face Wigan Athletic at home on the 21st of January.”

Kick-off this Sunday at the Project Solar Stadium [Walker Ln, Hyde SK14 5PL] is at 12:30pm.

Meanwhile, Rochdale’s Youth Team are back in action today (Saturday) as they travel to Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Youth Alliance League.

Lee Thorpe’s side are in action for the first time in 2024 as they face Bolton Wanderers.

The Youth Team were last in action on the

19th of December as they travelled to Hartlepool United in their final group game in the EFL Youth Alliance Cup.

Isaac Burgess’ goal was cancelled out by a Pools penalty, meaning that Dale exited the cup with Hartlepool progressin­g on.

Dale have enjoyed a good run in the league recently, winning six and drawing once in their last seven games.

Kick-off at the Eddie Davies Academy at Lostock (BL6 4AW) is at 11am, with free admission for all. ●●DALE’S Vanarama National League Fixture away at Oldham Athletic in April will now kick-off at 12:30pm.

Following advice from Greater Manchester Police, the game, taking place on Saturday 6th

April, was set to kick-off at 3pm but has been

moved forward to 12:30pm.
