Low-rated hotel Tiks all the right boxes for star review
A TIKTOKER spent the night at a hotel in Greater Manchester rated just 1.7 stars on Google ... and was left surprised by his experience.
User @Georgeredfern25 posted the video to the social media platform, announcing he was staying at the Assheton Arms in Middleton, that he claimed was ‘one of the lowest rated hotels in the UK.’
The two-star hotel, that has a rating of 1.7 on Google based on 297 verified reviews and 1.5 stars out of five on Tripadvisor, prides itself as being close to Middleton Arena and the shopping mall with easy transport links into Manchester.
Testing out the venue, George tasked himself with only leaving a positive review of his £30 stay with one rule - he couldn’t lie.
Filming himself walking
into the reception area, he began by giving a second star because the man who checked him in was ‘very nice’ and swiftly directed him to his room for the night.
After being let into his double room, he comically described the view of the Tesco supermarket across the road. “As I entered my
room I thought WOW, what a view of Tesco Extra!” he said. He then awarded another star after using a UV light to look for stains on the bedding and finding none.
Turning on the TV in the room, George was greeted with a static screen, that he said had been ‘smashed’ - but instead of complaining, he then awarded the hotel a further star because it ‘helped him reduce his screen time to have a better sleep.’
George then revealed a rusty, electronic free standing radiator inside the room. Noticing its wheels, he hilariously used the wire to ‘take it for a walk’ and drag it around the room something he claimed had provided him with entertainment for the evening, leaving him with no option but to leave a rating of five stars.
The Tiktok clip has since been viewed almost one million times and amassed 500 comments and 22,000 likes. @NP Fit joked: “Love the positivity” as @ Sarah-sas wrote: “kudos to you pal, I walked in and refused to stay.”
The Assheton Arms has been approached for comment.
