Law Cup cancelled as injuries take their toll
THE Law Cup clash against Oldham, scheduled for Sunday 10 March, has been cancelled.
Following discussions between both clubs following Sunday’s round of Betfred Challenge Cup fixtures, Oldham expressed their inability to commit to the fixture due to a combination of factors, primarily revolving around player injuries and their progression in the 1895 Cup.
The Hornets have also suffered a number of pre-season injuries, and therefore the decision was made with the utmost consideration for the welfare of the players and the desire to ensure a competitive and fair contest for the fans.
While we share the disappointment of our supporters, we assure you that this decision was not taken lightly, and the welfare of the players remains our top priority.
We extend our gratitude to all the fans who have shown unwavering support for this event, and encourage you to stay tuned for future announcements regarding the upcoming season.
Rochdale Hornets and Oldham RLFC would like to express their sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused and appreciate the understanding of the fans during this challenging period.
The Law Cup has been traditionally played as a pre-season friendly between Rochdale and Oldham, and is important financially for both clubs ahead of the domestic season.
Whilst all supporters will be eligible for a full refund on their tickets, we would like to advise supporters that donations of the paid amount are accepted. Donations will be split 50/50 between Rochdale Hornets & Oldham RLFC.
Fans have until Friday 8 March to claim a refund, so that refunds can be processed and donations can be split between Rochdale and Oldham ahead of the Betfred League 1 season.

Fans opting to donate their payment do not need to take any action. Any tickets not claimed for refund before the deadline will be automatically split and donated to Rochdale Hornets & Oldham RLFC. Refunds will be processed and paid, w/e Friday 15 March.
