047. Easter Sunday was a superb day and we had a full church for our

10.30am Sung Eucharist, including people we don’t see regularly, which was brilliant to see.

We used the High Altar for Communion - again great to see - and it was thanks to Linda (flowers) and to the cleaning team that Church looked so spectacular to celebrate the day our Lord came back from the dead, which is at the very heart of our Faith.

In her Easter message, delivered in a sermon,

Rev Rachel donned an Easter bonnet (to much laughter from the Nave) in order to stress that the real meaning of Easter went far beyond eggs, bonnets, bunnies and the like. There was a time and place for everything, of course, and at the end of the service the many children present were given eggs and adults were invited to collect a chocolate egg on their way out.

Our post Communion Prayer on this most wonderful day was as follows: God of Life, who for our redemption gave your only begotten Son to the death of the cross, and by his glorious resurrection have delivered us from the power of our enemy: grant us so to die daily to sin that we may evermore live with Him in the joy of his risen life, Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. ALL are welcome!
