TRIBUTES have been paid to a mother-oftwo with an ‘infectious laugh’ who had ‘a love of life’ and managed pubs for more than 40 years.

Jenny Jennings, who ran Royal George and Seven Stars in Heywood for around seven years with her late husband, Francis, had a heart attack at Haslingden Health Centre and was rushed to Royal Blackburn Hospital where she passed away on April 11, aged 73.

Jenny of Milton Close, Helmshore and Francis were managers for hospitality business, Whitbread.

Her daughter, Francine, said: “She was very out going and she had a lot of friends of all ages.

“She had a love of life and she adored her fam

“She was warm, supportive, compassionate and she had a good sense of fun and had a no nonsense attitude.

“Where ever mum went, she knew someone.

“She had an infectious laugh and she was very sociable.

“Everyone always asked how she was.

“She saw generations of families grow up visiting the pubs and people worked for her from all walks of life.”

Jenny and Francis also ran The Highcross in Poulton Le Fylde for a year, The White Horse in Helmshore for around five years and The Duckworth Arms in Shuttleworth, Ramsbottom for more than 30 years.

Jenny then took up a job in Marks and Spencer’s in Bury after working at The Duckworth Arms where the couple were given a team hospitality award around 1997 which was awarded by Whitbread PLC.

She was born to parents Douglas and Mary in Hastings in Sussex and was brought up in Manchester.

Jenny went to Bolton School of Art after she left school where she studied art and fashion and did some modelling.

Later she moved to Radcliffe where she met Francis while working with him at Farmer’s Arms in Radcliffe where he was a manager.

The couple got married in 1976 at a registry office in Rochdale.

They had adventures together in Lanzarote and enjoyed visiting Scotland and Hastings.

Her grandchildren would paint and bake with her.
