ST LUKE’S CHURCH, DEEPLISH

ST LUKE’S Church, Deeplish, will hold a Holy Communion service on May 12 at 10am, officiated by Revd Natty Gray. The service is followed by tea/ coffee and biscuits and a chance to chat.

Monday, May 13: Bible Study – 10.30am in the church side room. This is open to anyone who wants to find out more about the Bible in a friendly, informal setting.

Wednesday, May 15: 11am – Morning Praise service officiated by Revd Pam Parr. We look forward to welcoming our regular members and anyone who would like to join our very friendly, caring congregation.

St Andrew’s, Dearnley God’s work is in our hands. Unfortunately there are not enough hands to get the jobs done. Or are there? It is well known within the Church of England that 20 per cent of congregations do 80 per cent of necessary jobs which can be undertaken by lay members so with plenty of tasks at St Andrew’s currently carrying ‘vacancy’ boards please can we have more volunteers putting up their hands, thus freeingup Rev Rachel and her hard-working team of ministers to get on with more pastoral and spiritual duties.

In short, your church needs your help. Can YOU offer some time to help the Lord? There are a variety of roles to be filled and you can see them in detail posted at the back of church. In short, Rev Rachel is looking to recruit two baptism buddies to help with the growing number of baptisms and she is also looking for more volunteers for the cleaning team on Wednesday mornings.

Whenever we push leaflets through doors or do any form of house-tohouse survey we rely on the same people. There are other volunteer openings too so now is the perfect time to consider what you could do best to help and to let it be known that you have time each week to devote to the service of God the Son, God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.

On different themes we need to talk about our new BOOK SWAP, our APCM, the FOODBANK, our 50 CLUB, our new ELECTORAL ROLL. The Book Swap stall is situated in the Parish Room.

Please bring in as book you have read and enjoyed. Then pay a £1 donation, pick up a new book and start the process all over again.

Our APCM was held on April 21; please continue to bring in items for ROCHDALE FOODBANK, which is also in need of plastic shopping bags; winners of our 50 CLUB draw recently have included Geoff Hurst in February and Wendy Foote RIP in March and the organisers still have numbers available for new members or for those members wishing to have additional numbers.

Finally, our new ELECTORAL ROLL is available on the notice board. See you all in Church at 9.30am tomorrow.
