Names: Jason Howarth, director, Leanne Howarth, property stager and Joanne Boardman, property matchmaker. Name of business: Howarths Estates, Rossendale. What do you do?: We help people achieve their property and lifestyle goals by providing genuine guidance, support and advice to anyone, even if they are not on the market yet or with another agent. Whether the advice is for someone looking to buy, sell, rent or let we love to help people ensure their needs are met. Our services include full home presentation and professional photography to help showcase your home. What prompted you to start your own business?: Core values, customer service and the love of property and design. The ability to be able to provide people with new and innovative ways of achieving their property goals instantly if that’s what is required. Having bought, sold and rent out our own proper- ties, we knew what we expected and we are now able to deliver that level of service to both the Rossendale community and people looking to relocate to this gorgeous area. What did you do before this?: Jason worked for companies where bespoke, individual service was the norm. He spent many years at premium companies where he learnt about what customer service truly is. Leanne has worked in childcare for 20 years and has been working in children’s Accident and Emergency at Royal Blackburn Hospital for the last nine years. Joanne has always worked in property, since she left school. What do you think sets your products apart from the rest?: Eighty per cent of what we do is the same as all estate agents due to regulation. Twenty per cent is unique to us and that is our differentiator. We provide a friendly, informative service, we are not a production line and each client receives individual attention. The person who appraises a house will be the same person that sells it and we are happy to meet clients, sellers or buyers, at their convenience, whatever the hour. We are all local people and know not only the area, but also the community. What do you enjoy the most about doing this?: Freedom to be unique, to not have to apply corporate tape to every decision. Leanne loves the opportunity to design and meet people, Joanne loves matching people to properties and Jason loves to adopt new, creative ways that will help people achieve their goals How long have you been in the business?: The idea was sparked in January this year and we launched Howarth’s Estates in April. What’s the best thing about Rossendale?: The surroundings – it’s a gorgeous place to live and raise a family. It is a nice, close community and yet it is still near Manchester and larger cities. The scenery is beautiful and the architecture is stunning and that makes selling houses around here a pleasure. Where is your favourite place in Rossendale?: There are so many! Lee Mill Quarry is amazing and we love the fact there are so many nice walks in Rossendale and the moors over Deerplay seem to extend for miles. What was your first job?: As a child, Jason delivered milk, Leanne worked on her uncle’s shoe stall in Bolton and Joanne worked in her auntie’s kitchen at The Royal Hotel in Waterfoot. What advice would you give to anyone thinking of setting up in business?: Make sure you are passionate about the type of business you want to go into, follow your dreams and remember everyone can succeed if they really want to.
