MR John Patrick Kirrane, formerly of Hillside Road and Lacy Court, Haslingden, died peacefully in The Laurel’s Nursing Home, Bacup on Sunday, July 17, aged 91.

Born in Haslingden where he lived all of his life, he was employed for many years at Greenbridg­e in Rawtenstal­l. During the war he served with the Grenadier Guards.

He leaves nieces Pamela and Maria and their families.

A Requiem Mass was held at at St Marie’s RC, Haslingden, formerly St Mary’s RC on Monday, July 25, followed by

AGNES WEBB

MRS Agnes Webb, formerly of Newchurch, died peacefully at Olive House, Bacup, on Friday, July 22, aged 100.

Born in Newchurch, she lived most of her life in the Waterfoot area where she was a parishione­r at St Peter’s RC.

She had her own grocers shop off Burnley Road East for many years and also was employed at Smith and Nephews in Cloughfold.

In her younger days she enjoyed watching horse racing.

She leaves son Stephen, grandchild­ren Joanne and Stephen, greatgrand­daughters Ella and Grace, nephews, nieces and friends.

A Requiem Mass will be held at St Peter’s RC Church, Newchurch on Tuesday, August 2, at 10.30am followed by JUDITH Anne Uttley died on Sunday, July 24, aged 55.

She was a footwear machinist and forklift truck driver.

Judith was a supporter of Burnley Football Club.

She leaves children Donna, John and Sam, grandchild­ren James, Rhys, Sophie and Ava.

Daughter of Winifred and the late Donald, she also leaves sister Gillian, MRS Winifred Thorpe died at The Laurels Nursing Home, Bacup on Thursday, July 21, aged 93.

Born at Higher Deerplay Farm, in her early teens she moved to Winterbutl­ee Farm, Shawforth. Then Winifred and her late husband Stanley moved to Cown Farm, Shawforth, for a few years, before they returned back to Winterbutl­ee Farm where they farmed cattle and sheep and where she also had a milk delivery service until 1966. During this time she raised their MRS Maureen Smethurst, of Loveclough, died peacefully in Manchester Royal Hospital on Monday, July 18, aged 81.
