Brent’s boys getting set to kick-off new season

BACUP Borough are set to continue their pre-season preparatio­ns this weekend when they travel to Cottam Hall to take on Poulton FC.

Brent Peters’ side have been busy over the past few weeks as they get ready to kick-off their competitiv­e action with a match against Atherton Collieries on August 6.

League matches against Prestwich Heys, City of Liverpool FC, Atherton LR, Carlisle City, Silsden and Chadderton are then set to follow in the coming weeks.

Bacup began their preseason schedule with a trip to Mersey Valley, before away matches against Wythenshaw­e Amateurs and Tottington Saturday, United. Their latest game sees them take on West Lancashire Football League side Poulton, who will also be competing in their fourth friendly of the summer.

Poulton have already gone up against Wren Rovers, Garstand FC and Crooklands Casuals so far this summer.

Meanwhile, Bacup have also announced the launch of their new online club shop in associatio­n with MacronStor­e Manchester.

Macron recently signed a deal to supply the kit for Bacup this season, with the manufactur­er now giving fans the chance to purchase the kit online.
