Charity bee tattoo shop apologises

-

A VALLEY tattoo parlour which raised £2,000 to help the victims of the Manchester attack has apologised following complaints that its charity bee tattoos were not up to scratch.

INK Candescent tattoo parlour, in Waterfoot, had offered bee tattoos in exchange for a donation to the I Love Manchester relief fund following last month’s bombing.

But a number of customers came forward on social media to say they had been left disappointed with the results.

INK Candescent’s owner Philip Readman apologised and said the studio will offer a free correction or cover-up to make amends for any unhappy customers.

Mr Readman said: “Anyone who is not happy with their bee tattoo, we are really sorry and once it’s healed they just need to come back and we will do a correction or cover up free of charge.”

The studio said it raised £2,000 for the charity - including some tattoos done by a stand-in artist.

Mr Readman added: “All I have done is take time out of my business to run round and raise money for a charity I thought was deserving.

“Every penny has gone straight to the I Love Manchester appeal through the Mayor’s office. But I will never do it again after this and it’s such a shame, but I feel like I have had chunks taken off me for just trying to do our bit.”
