TAKING ON THE TORIES

HI, here is a poem my wife wrote about the election.

“Strong and Stable, Strong and Stable”

Dinners gone from the school kids’ table,

Education - mark, track, & test - no buts,

‘Cept the teacher’s gone due to funding cuts.

Winter’s cold, you’ll feel the freeze,

Take the fuel allowance from the OAPs,

And don’t even “choose” to be disabled,

You’ll be found to be fit and abled.

And if that there doesn’t cause distress,

How about no more NHS?

Think you might access further education?

Fees will price out most of the nation.

Zero hour contracts, austerity rules,

Treat working society like complete utter fools.

And not just people, they have no bounds,

Foxes ripped to shreds by baying hounds.

Tired yet? Enough? Read to the max?

I’ve not even started on bedroom tax....

And sanctions on those who need help the most,

At least the job centre met targets, heck of a boast.

The rich will get richer, the poor will get poorer,

Britain is broken, those needy get sorer.

Money’s there for defences, for bankers, MPs,

Taken from the vulnerable, societies “disease”.

A dementia tax, go fund your own care,

You’ve paid in all your life, where is your share?

Foodbanks accessed in a desperate state,

For some after pride and a desperate wait,

For the number of people who have died due to PIP,

Don’t waste your vote, don’t let it slip.

I shouldn’t have to speak it, but Tory must go,

Make use of your vote, make it count, make it so.

Oh and another thing I probably should mention,

That lovely May woman has her eyes on your pension.

STILL LOOKING FOR TOTO

I AM desperate to find my dog Toto. He is eight years old, he is a black and tan Yorkshire Terrier (not miniature) and he is microchipped.

He was stolen from my garden at 11.30am on December 16, 2015.

If you know where he is you can write directly to 6 Rudd Street, Haslingden.
