Morgan joins ex-United ace on team
A VALLEY man has joined a Manchester United legend in a new footballing start-up business.
Morgan Rothwell, of Exchange Street, Edenfield, is one of four founders of Sensible Soccer Limited, in partnership with Mike Phelan - former Old Trafford assistant manager to Sir Alex Ferguson, David Horrocks and Damian Greenwood.
The team boasts a breadth of experience in football, performance coaching, marketing and branding. The new company already has distribution agreements in place with a provider of virtual reality for professional football players and clubs and a high-quality manufacturer of goals and football training equipment.
Future plans include an area on the website that will allow members to access industry-specific educational material.
Former Haslingden High student Morgan, 43, started a graphic design agency after resettling in the Valley in 2000. He said their brand is “unique”.
The Mike Phelan Foundation will also be launched next year to provide support for community groups and projects. ●● Sensible Soccer founders with players from Burnley Football Club: from left are Damian Greenwood, Mike Phelan, Jeff Hendrick, Robbie Brady, David Horrocks and Morgan Rothwell
