CASES heard at Burnley Magistrate­s Court:

CHRISTOPHE­R Bamford, 32, of Quinton, Rochdale, was found guilty of driving without due care and attention in Whitworth and using a car without insurance. He was fined £180, ordered to pay £50 costs and given eight points on his driving licence.

SOPHIE Louise Dawber, 23, of Grane Road, Haslingden, pleaded guilty to drink driving. She was fined £408, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 12 months, reduced by 13 weeks if she completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.

RICHARD Charlie Jepson, 35, of Oakencloug­h Road, Bacup, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis as part of an investigat­ion, failing to stop a vehicle when required to do so by police, assaulting a police officer in the execution of his duty and two counts of criminal damage. He was given a 12-month community order with a 15-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t, ordered to pay £85 costs and £785 compensati­on and disqualifi­ed from driving for 12 months, reduced by 13 weeks if he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.

GRANT David Jones, 34, of Ash Grove, Rawtenstal­l, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place and two counts of assaulting a police officer in the execution of his duty. He was given an eight-week community order with a curfew requiremen­t and ordered to pay £435 compensati­on and £85 costs.

JAMIE Ardern, 32, of Nuttall Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to criminal damage in Rossendale. He was ordered to pay £500 compensati­on.

STEPHEN Hartley, 49, of Hill Top Drive, Rochdale, was found guilty in his absence of using a car without insurance in Stackstead­s. He was fined £660, ordered to pay £85 costs and given six points on his driving licence.

CASES heard at Blackburn Magistrate­s Court:

SHAZIA Ilyas, 39, of Swallow Drive, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to shopliftin­g in Rawtenstal­l. She was fined £60 and ordered to pay £85 costs.

JOHN Benjamin Dop, 44, of Moss Side Street, Shawforth, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating. He was given a 12-month community order with a 25-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t, 100 hours unpaid work, a 12-month restrainin­g order and ordered to pay £85 costs.
