Health visitor named an NHS ‘shining star’
A HEALTH visitor is celebrating after being named Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Shining Star of the Year.
Emma Carey, from Rawtenstall, was nominated for the compassionate manner in which she works to improve the health and wellbeing of families.
The mum-of-three, 35, said she was ‘overwhelmed’ with the award, saying: “My job as a health visitor is something I am passionate about and I felt very touched that my colleagues nominated me. I work with an amazing team who always encourage each other and support each other.”
Emma, who is married to Dave, works in the Burnley and Brierfield areas.
Sarah Wright, deputy head of operations for the children and wellbeing network at Lancashire Care, said she has been the driving force behind a new Staff Support Network to help staff overcome difficult or adverse experiences. She said: “Emma has worked hard in setting up this service. This means that clinical staff are now in place to offer their time, expertise and guidance to support anyone that has experienced a difficult event.”
