Hip-hop team dance into world contest
A VALLEY hip-hop dance team have been rewarded with the chance to perform at Disneyland after their triumph in a British competition.
The stellar performance by ‘Tenacity’ at the National British Open Championships in Nottingham earned them the chance to enter the world championships.
The team are coached by Fayhe-Louise Mitchell and, while they have no permanent home, the team often train at Fayhe’s former school, Fearns.
Fayhe, 27, said her team were dedicated and often return home from university to train.
She added: “The quality of performances were outstanding.
“We have always said as long as we exit the floor knowing we’ve given all our efforts and there was nothing else we could have done then we are happy regardless of wherever we end up placing and scoring.
“They have worked so hard and have been so committed since we began in September 2016.”
Entry into the world championships in Florida is only partially-funded, so the team are looking for sponsors to help them.
Potential sponsors should contact Fayhe on 07583 700601.
