Karl hits new high with unbeaten 161
●● Karl Brown hit a century for Lancashire against the UAE during the pre-season tour of Dubai CHRIS OSTICK KARL Brown hit his highest ever score on the final day of Lancashire’s two-day red ball fixture against the UAE on their pre-season tour of Dubai.
The Red Rose batsman hit an unbeaten 161 - including 21 fours and five sixes – as Lancashire made 366.
Former skipper Steven Croft continued his impressive form on tour with 84, while there was a late cameo from new signing Graham Onions, who hit 36.
The UAE finished the match on 168-5, with Aaron Lilley and Chris Sanders both claiming two wickets.
“I feel really good,” said Brown, who struggled to secure a place in Lancashire’s County Championship side last season. “I felt good in the nets over the winter and it was good to take that out onto the field. This tour is all about lads getting in the right mindset, playing competitive games again because we want to hit the ground running when we get back to England and start the season.”
Lancashire ended their tour with a draw against Glamorgan.
They have a three-day match against Loughborough Uni from Saturday at Loughborough before they begin their Championship campaign at home to Nottinghamshire on April 13.
