THIS week’s Time Trip feature takes a look back at what was happening in the Valley in the years 2002 and 2003.
We have pictures of Scouts being awarded their neck ties, a giant pie, cricket club award winners and a hospice dinner, all taken 15 or 16 years ago.
Our first picture of the week shows a huge pie being presented to Paul Crone, who was walking through the north west to raise money for the Air Ambulance Appeal.
The picture was taken in Whitaker Park, Rawtenstall, on August 11, 2003.
Our next picture (right) shows the presentation of ‘neckers’ to the New Venture Scout section at St Joseph’s Church Hall, Ramsbottom, on October 1, 2003.
At the back, from left, are district commissioner Graham Lord, Lee Armstrong, Mark Wharton and Fiona Ribchester and county commissioner Ann Holt.
At the front, from left, are Alan Woods of Marshalls Quarry, Ramsbottom, and Scout Alex Morrison.
Below that (bottom right) is a shot of some of the many trophy winners at Bacup Cricket Club Annual Awards on Saturday November 29, 2003.
Finally (below) we have a shot of the hospice dinner ar Bacup Leisure Hall.
From left are Christine Jackson, Dave Trickett Jimmy Heaton, Val Williams, Maxine Walsh, Lynne Edmonson and Dave Edmonson, holding a signed photograph of Martin Johnson, England Rugby Union captain.
The picture was taken in 2002.
In our weekly Timetrip feature we publish a set of pictures taken by Rossendale Free Press photographers which have appeared in the paper in years gone by.
If you have any pictures you would like us to feature on this page, send them to communities@menmedia .co.uk or submit them via the Rossendale Free Press Facebook page.
