Last chance to tour textile museum

-

THERE is one last chance to get to Helmshore Mills Textile Museum before it closes for the winter.

The museum complex had been closed to the public since 2016, but it reopened for the summer in May following a Lancashire County Council vote.

The museum is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4pm until Sunday, October 28 before it shuts until next Easter.

Schools are still welcome to book all learning sessions, and pre-booked groups can be arranged for guided tours.

A felting workshop will take place on Friday, October 26 from 10am to noon. It is suitable for beginners aged from 16 and all materials will be provided. Booking is essential.

Spooky fun is on offer from Friday, October 26 to Sunday, October 28 from noon to 4pm.

Special tours will show visitors how dangerous working life could be at the mill. Children can also attend craft and face painting sessions and listen to Halloween stories if accompanied by an adult. The activity is suitable for children aged four to 11.

Costs apply for the activities, excluding the Halloween activities for children.
