VERA Holt, of Townsend Street, Hasling­den, died peace­fully at home sur­rounded by her fam­ily, on Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 18.

Vera, who was the wife of the late James, leaves sons Gor­don and Brian, daugh­ter-in-law Gil­lian, eight grand­chil­dren and six great-grand­chil­dren.

She be­gan her work­ing life in Ac­cring­ton in a card fac­tory, be­fore mov­ing to work in the tex­tile in­dus­try at Acre Mill.

She spent many years work­ing at Kar­ri­mor in Hasling­den, Ac­cring­ton and fi­nally Clay­ton as a prod­uct in­spec­tor, be­fore her re­tire­ment.

The fu­neral will be held at Ac­cring­ton Cre­ma­to­rium at 11am on Wednes­day, Oc­to­ber 31, of­fi­ci­ated by the Rev David Stephen­son.

She was a long serv­ing mem­ber of Rossendale Ladies Lun­cheon Club.

Wife of the late Charles Derek Fen­ton, she leaves daugh­ters Kath­leen and Mar­garet, son-in-law David, grand­sons Pe­ter and wife Jenny and Richard and part­ner Emily, great­grand­chil­dren Sophia and Jack and step­grand­chil­dren Steven and his wife Jane and Lewis.

The fu­neral is due to be held on Wednes­day, Oc­to­ber 31 at Ac­cring­ton Cre­ma­to­rium at 2.20pm, of­fi­ci­ated by the min­is­ter David Ire­land. Fam­ily flow­ers, with do­na­tions to Alzheimer’s Re­search.
