Man forced to fight

A BOOK talk for First World War enthusiasts will come to Bacup Library.

David Hewitt will discuss his book Joseph, 1917 - which tells the story of a Lancashire man who was forced to fight in the Great War even though he’d already volunteered.

The case caused a huge row, and it prompted a group of local councillors to go out on strike. The event is on Wednesday, November 14.
