Cascade is a WWI tribute

A POIGNANT school Remembrance project has seen a ‘waterfall’ of poppies cascading from a church memorial.

The striking installation was produced by Chris Hollis and Year 6 pupils from Edenfield CE Primary and displays the names of Edenfield’s fallen soldiers.

Headteacher Charlotte Garner said they have focused on the history of local residents who fought and gave their lives during the wars. She said: “The children quite literally walk in the footsteps of these young men who attended this school, in the very same building, over a hundred years ago.”

The soldiers’ descendants attend a special Service of Remembrance every year.
