Christmas lights on in two weeks

-

NOMINATIONS are being invited for children to switch on the Christmas lights in Rawtenstall.

Organisers are looking for a group of Rossendale youngsters to perform the big switch on in the town square on Saturday, November 24.

The switch-on will be the culmination of a Christmas-special Clog Market and fair on the square running from 10am-5pm.

As well as festive stalls, the market will include traditional festive entertainment throughout the day, including The Britannia Coconutters, Water Brass Band, Valley Aloud Community Choir, Rossendale Radio and Rossendale Drum Majorettes, and activities for younger visitors.

There is still space for local charitable organisations and groups to fundraise on the day.

For trader enquiries please email info@ theclogmarket.co.uk.

Community Assets Standing Tall (CAST) also need up to two volunteers to staff their information stand at the fair from 10am-3pm. Expenses will be paid. Please call 07805 093348 or email info@ communityasset.org.

Parents and carers can email communitiesteam@rossendalebc.gov.uk with nominations for switching on the lights.
