PARISH­IONERS are putting the fi­nal touches to their first ma­jor event of the Christ­mas sea­son.

Eden­field Parish Church will hold a spe­cial ‘Twelve Days of Christ­mas’ fes­ti­val from Thurs­day, De­cem­ber 13, to Satur­day, De­cem­ber 15.

The ground floor win­dow dis­plays on the Grade II listed build­ing will be de­signed and pro­duced by fam­i­lies and or­gan­i­sa­tions from the vil­lage and sur­round­ing ar­eas to give their own in­ter­pre­ta­tion of the ‘Twelve Days of Christ­mas’ song.

Fes­ti­val craft stalls will be set up on the first floor of the Mar­ket Street church and re­fresh­ments are avail­able.

The church’s an­nual carol ser­vice, the tra­di­tional Fes­ti­val of Nine Les­sons and Car­ols, will also take place on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 23, at 6.30pm.

Church­war­den David Foster said “We would like to ex­tend a very warm Eden­field wel­come to share in all our Christ­mas events with us.

“Please come and join us for The Twelve Days of Christ­mas’ and our carol ser­vice.”

En­try is free and the fes­ti­val will open from 10.30am to 7pm on Thurs­day, De­cem­ber 13 and 10.30am to 5pm on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 14 and Satur­day, De­cem­ber 15.
