It’s gold for green-fingered pupils
GREEN-FINGERED pupils have received a gold award for improving their local environment.
Youngsters at Hazlehurst Community Primary School in Ramsbottom got involved in a number of activities including recycling, visiting a local woodland and helping to reduce carbon emissions.
They also planted trees in their school’s grounds, created pictures and joined in Woodland Trust events.
Their hard work has now been recognised with a special gold award from the Woodland Trust.
Headteacher AnneMarie Knowles said: “Well done to the whole school who managed to have a go at so many activities during our Art Week.”
Karen Letten, Woodland Trust schools and communities engagement manager, praised school pupils and staff on their achievement and urged them to now aim for the platinum award.
