Riddle of ‘serious injuries’ as man, 22, placed in coma
A MAN had to be put in a medically induced coma after being found at the bottom of a 30ft wall with ‘very serious injuries’.
Police said the 22-year-old was spotted by a member of the public on a footpath off Blackburn Road in Haslingden, close to St James Church.
He was taken by ambulance to hospital where he was put in an induced coma.
The man was found shortly before 2.30pm on Wednesday, December 5.
An investigation has been launched to establish how he suffered the injuries but detectives say at this stage there is ‘no evidence to suggest third party involvement’.
Detective Inspector Scott Waddington, of East CID, said: “This young man has suffered some very serious injuries and we are trying to piece together what has happened to him.
“At this stage there is no evidence to suggest third party involvement in this case, however in the absence of any other explanation a number of further enquiries will be necessary today to establish the full circumstances.”
Anyone with information should call 101 quoting log number 0762 of December 5.
