ADAY celebrating 30 years of Rossendale Hospice care raised a whopping £18,730.
Some 160 ladies supported the hospice by attending their 18th luncheon at Nino’s Restaurant in Rawtenstall.
The day was organised by the Special Events Committee and sponsored by CFH design.
A thought provoking and quite humorous talk was given by Brenda Bottomley, an ex-patient and current Rossendale Woman of the Year along with her sister Denise.
Her testimony on behalf of the current patients was greatly received by the guests.
Guests enjoyed entertainment from ‘Dax on Sax’ and Joe Casserley was the host.
Sam Morris, fundrais- ing manager, said the amount raised in four hours was ‘phenomenal’, adding: “The Hospice is overwhelmed by the generosity of the Valley people and beyond.
“Local businesses and individuals donated prizes and bought tickets to support the Special Events Committee with their fundraising.”
