AN arson investigation is under way following a car fire in Edenfield.

Fire crews were called to reports of a vehicle fire on Bolton Road North, shortly after 11.10pm on Wednesday, December 12.

The blazing car was on the roadway when firefighters arrived and was quickly extinguished using a hose reel.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the fire is believed to be suspicious and added that an investigation alongside police is now underway.
