Triathlon club in Velodrome visit

ATHLETICS ROSSENDALE Triathlon club coach Jan Kempson recently organised for triathlon club members to visit the Manchester Velodrome.

There was a mix of members, some had taken to the track previously and a few hadn’t but a British Cycling coach was on hand to give advice and get everyone up to the same standard.

The group was split into two groups for the first hour, giving everyone the opportunity to gain the confidence to go higher and higher up the banked track. The final hour was a little more competitive, there was a one lap time trial which Oliver Major blitzed in 19.45 seconds, a slow speed manoeuvring session and finally a pursuit style race which everyone really enjoyed.

Another visit will be arranged in the new year.

There will be an open evening at Marl Pits on Thursday, January 17 for potential triathlon club members to come along to. Details will be announced soon in the meantime have a look at the clubs website www. rossendaletriathlonclub. com.
