CASES heard at Burnley Magistrate­s Court:

ADAM Gordon, 20, of Hall Fold, Whitworth, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was given a 12-month conditiona­l discharge and ordered to pay £80 costs.

JOAN Johnson, 74, of Bury Road, Rawtenstal­l, pleaded guilty to drink driving. She was fined £180, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 17 months, reduced by 17 weeks if she completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.

ABEL Haworth, 22, of Upper Ash Mount, Cloughfold, pleaded guilty to drug driving, driving without a licence and using a vehicle without insurance and no test certificat­e. He was fined £500, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 12 months. JOHN Stephen George Harris, 40, of Bacup Road, Waterfoot, pleaded guilty to drink driving. He was fined £400, ordered to pay £85 costs and disqualifi­ed from driving for 36 months, reduced by 36 weeks if he completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.

GEORGE Stewart, 21, of Buchanon Street, Ramsbottom, pleaded guilty to taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent, using a car without insurance and driving without a licence. He was fined £200, ordered to pay £85 costs and given six points on his driving licence. CASES heard at Blackburn Magistrate­s Court:

DONNA Louise Monks, 40, of Walnut Street, Bacup, pleaded guilty to two counts of shopliftin­g and one count of failing to surrender into custody having been released on bail. She was given a 12-month community order with a six-month drug rehabilita­tion requiremen­t, a threemonth exclusion requiremen­t not to enter any Coop or Superdrug stores, a ten-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t and ordered to pay £85 costs. DANIEL Cain, 44, of Staveley Close, Bacup, pleaded guilty to harassment. He was given a 12-month community order with a one-month curfew requiremen­t, a 20-day rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t, a 12-month restrainin­g order and ordered to pay £85 costs. REBECCA Louise Waldron, 28, of Market Street, Shawforth, pleaded guilty to shopliftin­g and while subject to a suspended sentence order. She was jailed for nine weeks.

ANDREW John Crofts, 47, of Manchester Road, Ewood Bridge, Haslingden, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was fined £500 and ordered to pay £150 costs.
