Man taken to hospital after New Year’s Day smash
A MAN was hospitalised with suspected leg injuries after a ‘serious’ collision.
Emergency services were called to Market Street in Whitworth at around 6.45pm on Tuesday, January 1.
The collision involved a Fiat Stilo and a Toyota Yaris.
A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “One man was taken to hospital with suspected leg injuries.
“The road was closed while emergency services attended.”
A 37-year-old man from Bacup was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink/drugs and has been released under investigation.
