WHAT you’ve been saying on our Facebook page:

ST Mary’s RC Church crucifix found smashed to pieces (June 14): Alan Entwistle: Cameras around Christian edifices and places of worship would be perhaps a good idea. Tracy Askew: Sick. Folks that do things like that not an onuce of respect Graham Lowthion: Please get it repaired and reinstalled. To keep it stored away is to give in to religious bigots. Susan Hurrell: Nothing is sacred anymore, shameful behaviour.

PLANS for 220 more homes in Bacup and Haslingden (June 7): Sam Haworth: Not only is this going to cause chaos with already overstretched infrastructure but it will also price local people out of the local area Carlton Jaffir: I can’t wait to see the traffic jam from Rawtenstall to Bacup when these houses are built. It took me two hours to get from Haslingden to Bacup yesterday teatime. Claire Prudom: That Bacup site - all them 70 homes are only accessible from Fieldfare Way which is an absolute nightmare now with all the parked cars. Then when it’s bad weather conditions it’s 100pc worse. How are 70 homes with two or three cars per family going to help the situation? Autumn Barlow: The Haslingden development says the “primary vehicular access will be off Holcombe Road”. Good luck trying to then turn right onto Grane Road to use those great transport links to the A56 in the morning. It’s already a nightmare. Jon Heaps: So long as they are affordable it should be a brilliant idea. We definitely need more affordable housing and it’s a beautiful area.

ALDER Grange’s new headteacher Joanna Griffiths sets out vision for future (June 7): Beverley Fulcher: Mr Hulland and Mr Hampson are both fabulous head teachers. Mrs Griffiths will be excellent too. Great school x Kate Conboy: Good luck in your new role. You’ll be great. Pippa Holland: I don’t know her as a teacher but when we were looking around individually for where our son should go she took time out impromptu to talk to us even though it was out of hours. Dedication.

COUPLE’S selfless dedication praised by former foster daughter (June 14): Sarah Finch: What a wonderful story. Marcia and Kevin are a fantastic couple Ruth Keating: That is so lovely... how touching. Karen Jackson: How lovely, more people like this needed x
