Council bid to help businesses bounce back from Covid-19

ROSSENDALE council has filled a key role to help businesses recover from the fallout of the coronaviru­s pandemic.

They have appointed Brad Hacking as Business Adviser within the Economic Developmen­t Team. The role is to help Rossendale businesses get back on their feet and will offer free advice on all aspects of business recovery.

The lockdown and subsequent restrictio­ns placed many businesses under severe pressure and the road to recovery is forecast to be a long one.

Brad said: “I’m extremely excited to be starting this new role and the opportunit­y it will give me to help the businesses of Rossendale.

“It’s been an incredibly tough time for all companies, and many have had to adapt to survive.

“There’s new skills and processes that businesses may have to put in place, and I feel it’s important that the council are leading the way in helping businesses.”

Dates are being finalised for a series of skills workshops which will address: Covid-19 Recovery, New Business Support and Social Media Marketing, among other topics.

Brad added: “As well as the workshops I will also be visiting business premises across the borough to run one to one sessions, whether it be crisis management, general business advice or to talk about growth plans.

Coun Alyson Barnes, council leader and cabinet member for economic developmen­t, said: “We’re extremely pleased to be able to create a new Business Adviser role to help businesses adapt during this difficult time.”

Brad will be based in the council’s Futures Park offices, but will be spending a large part of his time visiting businesses across the borough.
