MR Joseph Walton, of Hawthorn Road, Bacup, died peacefully at Royal Blackburn Hospital on Monday, August 3, aged 73.

Born in Stackstead­s, he lived in Rossendale his whole life.

He worked in the manufactur­ing industry throughout his life.

Joe enjoyed listening to country music, reading, watching TV, and fishing with his sons.

Although he leaves behind seven children, 14 grandchild­ren and two great-grandchild­ren, Joe is now reunited with his loving wife of 53 years, ‘his Nell’.

Family flowers only with donations to the British Heart Foundation.

MRS Gillian Smith, of Rakehead Lane, Stackstead­s, passed away peacefully in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Monday, August 3 after a short illness, aged 69.

Wife to Jim, Gill will be remembered as landlady of The Buck Inn, Cowpe in the 1980s.

After leaving the pub, Gill worked at E.Sutton and Sons for many years, where she had many friends.

Prior to retirement she worked for Manning’s Bakery for a number of years.

Gill’s hobbies consisted of her cat ‘Jinx’, cooking, reading, gardening and crosswords. She loved being part of ‘the Rakehead community’.

Gill leaves her husband of 47 years Jim, daughter Vicki, son Robin, son-inlaw Mark, daughter-in-law Claire, and grandchild­ren Cayden, Charlie, Maddie, and Harper. Gill will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

MR Keith Entwistle, of Sunnybank Street, Haslingden passed away on Friday, July 31 in Royal Blackburn Hospital, aged
