MR John Barnes, of Ramsbottom, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 3 in the Royal Salford Hospital, aged 90.

The dearly loved husband of the late Marjory.

Devoted uncle to Stuart, Graham, the late Michael and a great-uncle.

A dear friend to Chris and Deb.

John will be sadly missed.

The funeral will take place on Tuesday, August 18 at 1.30pm at East Lancashire Crematoriu­m.

She loved spending time with her family, especially the children.

She was an assistant Scout Leader at 5th Rossendale (Tunstead) for many years. Her other interests included crochet, taking coach trips and wildlife. She worshipped at Trinity Baptist.

Peggy is at peace now with her two oldest sons, Paul and Ray.

MR Maurice Lovell Lacey, of Woodcroft Street, Rawtenstal­l, died on Saturday, August 8, at Hillview Care Home, aged 88.

Maurice enjoyed crown green bowls, cricket, football, dancing and greenkeepi­ng, loved ballroom dancing and teaching it, and was a member of the Institute of Groundsmen.

Maurice played football for Rossendale United, then finished at

Longholme Methodist, and managed Padiham after his playing career.
